Bursary award was introduced shortly after the Board was setup in 2000 by the administration of Adefarati in line with the administration’s general populace outlook. The dwindling nature of the Government’s financial resources and the various projects competing for attention of the administration influenced the decision to replace the then scholarship award with bursary to all State indigenes in tertiary institutions within the country, rather than just a small number of beneficiaries enjoying scholarship prior to the advent of the administration.
The Bursary award is for students already in recognized Universities, Polytechnics, Monotechnics, Colleges of Education, Schools of Nursing, Midwifery and Health Technology, pursuing courses within Nigeria right from their first year throughout the duration of their courses.

A bursary award of #10,000.00 is given to each student of Ondo State origin in recognized tertiary institutions in Nigeria.
Requirement
Applicants must be a registered students in any tertiary Institutions in Nigeria and indigine of Ondo State.
